Fortunately, the only thing lost was time. In fact, the aforementioned hindrance proved to be a blessing in disguise that allowed for additional requests for items to be processed. In the interim, items from Faith Hill, Miranda Lambert, Tim McGraw, LeAnn Rimes, Jessica Simpson, George Strait, and Taylor Swift were received!
The auction is once again in full force with several listings already posted. The remainder of the items will be added in the coming week. Fans are invited to bid on items by visiting CountryAngel’s Network website: www.countryangelsnetwork.org.
Proceeds from the 12th Annual CountryAngel’s Network Online Charity Auction will be donated to Andy Dalberg and his family. Andy is wheelchair bound and traveling anywhere can be a lengthy process in it of itself. The upkeep on their current 24-year-old vehicle has become increasingly difficult. Funds raised from the auction will be used toward purchasing a new van; this will allow Andy to travel with more ease and comfort.
CountryAngel’s Network has set a goal of raising at least $2,500 toward the purchase of the new vehicle. Though still a ways from their goal, the organization remains optimistic that the big-ticket items they’ve received will reel in some much-needed funds.
About Andy Dalberg:
Andy Dalberg was born with Spina Bifida, hydrocephalus, and several other health conditions. He wasn't supposed to make it out of the Stormont-Vail intensive care unit thirteen years ago. He's not supposed to be able to talk, to recognize people, or to learn. However, Andy is more than alive. He is a smart, happy teenager, and has a most contagious smile – one that he flashes often!
Currently, Andy is fighting a serious bout of infections affecting his lungs, stoma trach, and ears.
Despite his seemingly grim and sometimes delicate conditions, Andy remains a remarkable young man with an amazing spirit and outlook on life. Those who have met him say Andy is a blessing and privilege to call him a friend. The following is an article that was published in Andy’s hometown newspaper when Andy was ten years old, which details some of the struggles Andy and his family face on a daily basis: www.webspawner.com/users/foreverfriends05/index.html.
About Spina Bifida:
