RUSTIE BLUE Featured in September 8 Issue of Country Weekly!
Aug 25, 2008
Lancaster, OH (August 25, 2008) – RUSTIE BLUE is a featured artist in the NEW issue of Country Weekly magazine! The issue dated September 8 – with Taylor Swift on the cover – hits newsstands today! Rustie appears on page 56 in LISTEN UP! In conjunction with the new issue, Rustie is also featured on the Country Weekly website! She is offering a FREE download for “Where I Used to Be” to fans in the FREE MUSIC section at www.countryweekly.com.

The Country Weekly staff has long been supportive of Rustie’s career for several years. In fact, one of the first stops Rustie made to preview songs from her forthcoming album was to their office in Nashville, where she performed “Cowgirls Do It Better” (one of 13 songs on her new album, Stronger Than Steel). The song had just been penned in a songwriting session earlier in the day and was so new that Rustie sang it with lyric sheet in hand! Larry Holden, Senior Editor of the long-running publication, described the tune as being “a rompingly funny look at the romantic world of guys and gals.”

Stronger Than Steel – Rustie’s fourth album – also receives high marks from Larry: "Rustie is a stand out performer and this is a stand out album!”

“One Hot Summer Ago” is the lead single from Stronger Than Steel, which officially releases TOMORROW, August 26, 2008!

Fans who pre-order directly from www.rustieblue.com/merch/item?id=3 will receive their copies AUTOGRAPHED!
About: Country Music Hosts Listening Party For RUSTIE BLUE!
Aug 20, 2008
Lancaster, OH (August 20, 2008) – About.com: Country Music is hosting a Listening Party in honor of RUSTIE BLUE’s Stronger Than Steel album, and you’re invited! The listening party began online this morning, with all thirteen songs from the forthcoming album now posted in full-length at http://countrymusic.about.com/b/2008/08/20/rustie-blue-stronger-than-steel-listening-party.htm.

This is Rustie’s very first listening party and she is thrilled to have this unique opportunity to share her music with a wider audience. “I'm so EXCITED to be having my own Listening Party and very honored that About: Country Music is hosting it for me! How cool is that?”

Stronger Than Steel comes four years after Rustie’s previous album. She co-wrote the title track and "Cowgirls Do It Better" on the new album. Other writers on the album include Terri Clark on "Fall In the First Place" (written with Gilles Godard and Bobby Tomberlane) and Deborah Allen on "It Hurts Like Love" (written with Chuck Jones). Rustie also recorded "Where I Used to Be," a song that Country Weekly magazine's Senior Editor, Larry Holden co-wrote with fellow CW colleague, Jerry Holthouse, and also Sergei Olkovsky. Willie Mack produced the album and also duets with Rustie on "Stronger Than Steel" and "It Hurts Like Love." Rustie also included “Chip, Chip” – her hit duet with “Whispering” Bill Anderson – as a bonus track.

"One word says how I feel about my new album: WOW!” It’s not hard to see Rustie’s exuding joy as she discusses her fourth album! “I feel that I have truly been blessed to be in the studio with such honorable musicians that have backed some of the most famous and talented in the business! To have such gifted songwriters involved with my project! To have Glenn Sweitzer [of Fresh Design + Film] do my photos and album artwork with the same passion that he shows to folks like Tim McGraw and Rascals Flatts! Willie Mack, producer and a star in his own right! What more could a gal ask for?"

The release date for Stronger Than Steel is this Tuesday, August 26, 2008! Pre-orders are being taken for the album, and Rustie will autograph each copy that is pre-ordered from her official artist website at www.rustieblue.com! (CDs will be shipped out on or before August 26.)

Also, look for Rustie in the next issue of Country Weekly magazine! She will be a featured artist in the Listen Up! section. In conjunction with the feature, Rustie will appear in the pages of Country Weekly as well as online via their website.
RUSTIE BLUE Vying to Become 2008 Fall FameCast Fenom!
Aug 1, 2008
Lancaster, OH (August 1, 2008) – RUSTIE BLUE has entered her video into the newest FameCast competition! Fans are invited to vote for Rustie in the Country Stage at www.famecast.com/contest/stage.php?sid=4&rid=1006&aid=2481&vid=14982.

A short registration process is required prior to participation in the voting – however, if fans have already registered to vote in previous competitions, they can log in directly to the website and submit their votes. Fans who are new to FameCast may register here: www.famecast.com/join/signup_member.php

One vote per valid e-mail address is permitted per 24-hour period.

In previous years, winners were determined solely by fan votes. Beginning this month, “The Buzz Factor” rating has been added. The new feature takes into consideration the number of plays artists receive for their submitted videos on the FameCast website, as well as the amount of “buzz” generated on each competing artist through Google searches, MySpace, Facebook, press, blogs, and other marketing venues.

Week 1 of daily voting began today for the Open Round. Artists receiving the most fan votes and highest Buzz Factors will advance into the Top 25 for their stage for Week 2. The Top 10 will be announced in Week 3 and the Top 5 in Week 4.

Winners from each stage in August, September, and October will receive their own feature in SPIN magazine. In addition, these winners will compete in the Fall 2008 FameCast Finals in November for a chance at winning $20,000 and the Fall 2008 FameCast Fenom title. Top artists will also score all kinds of gigs along the way – Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits Music Festival, SPIN's Ruby Concert Series in L.A., and more!

There are six competing stages in the current contest, representing various genres of music: Country, Rock, Hip Hop, Pop, Latino, and Christian.

Last year, Rustie competed for the title of FameCast Country Fenom, advancing all the way into the Top 5 for the Country Stage! FameCast flew her to Austin, Texas, where she placed 2nd overall, coming in just two votes shy of the title.
RUSTIE BLUE’s Fourth Album Is Stronger Than Steel!
Jul 25, 2008
Lancaster, OH (July 25, 2008) – RUSTIE BLUE’s highly anticipated fourth album, Stronger Than Steel, has been set for release on August 26, 2008! This is the follow-up album to her critically acclaimed Chip, Chip. Early feedback suggests that this should become another successful release for Rustie!

Larry Holden, Country Weekly Senior Editor: "An artist should always take a new project 'up a notch' from the previous album. Rustie has done that Big Time. This is a well-crafted, well-produced CD. Rustie has definitely hit her stride."

Stuart Cameron, Radio Borders, Up Country magazine, Rush Released (formerly HotDisc): "It's been a four year wait for the new Rustie Blue album and it's been well worth the wait. In that four years Rustie has matured into a performer who is at the very top of her tree on the independent scene, and the only problem was being able to choose the right singles to promote the album. There are so many potential singles on this album - each track offering something different and refreshing. I cannot recommend the album enough; a tremendous effort all round!"

Mark Trail, Mark Trail Music: “Rustie’s new album, Stronger Than Steel, is chock-full of great music and well penned songs! ‘One Hot Summer Ago,’ is a fantastic country song that is a well sung and produced! Congrats on a job well done!”

“One Hot Summer Ago” – the first single to be released from the album – is going for Adds at New Music Weekly this week! New Music Weekly is also making the single available for download at Airplay Access. Program Directors, Music Directors, Syndicate Radio, and Internet Radio are invited to download the single to spin on their stations.

In conjunction with Rustie’s forthcoming album release, “One Hot Summer Ago” has been included on a couple compilation albums. It is a Premier Cut in the July 2008 edition of the Hot Disc Rush Released album. Stuart Cameron placed the single as the first song on an album that also includes Sylvia, Cowboy Crush, and The Bellamy Brothers. Rustie is also being featured in this month’s Up Country publication. “One Hot Summer Ago” entered the HotDisc Top 40 Chart at #17 and has climbed up to #13 this week! LISTEN UP: Conman Radio Show Shines Spotlight On RUSTIE BLUE!
Jul 17, 2008
Englewood, CO (July 17, 2008) – RUSTIE BLUE will be on The Conman Radio Show TOMORROW evening! She is the featured artist in the “Bar Bands & Basement Tapes” segment, which is scheduled to air at 8:15 PM, Mountain time zone (9:15 PM Central/10:15PM Eastern time). The show’s host, Chris Conn, will highlight several songs from Rustie’s forthcoming album, Stronger Than Steel! Fans are invited to tune in to the show via the stations who carry the show or online at www.ConmanRadio.com.

Chris’ inspiration for implementing “Bar Bands & Basement Tapes” into his show sprung forth from a simple concept. "Years ago, I started a feature on my radio show called ‘Bar Bands & Basement Tapes.’ It was designed to give Independent country talent 15 minutes of fame in front of a national audience. Since it's conception, I have featured hundreds of up and coming talents. Some have gone on to sign major recording contracts (Danielle Peck, Ashley Gearing, Cross Canadian Ragweed, Amanda Wilson) and some simply fade away.”

He is excited to be featuring Rustie on tomorrow’s show! “This Friday, I will be featuring a great singer/songwriter by the name of Rustie Blue. I have known Rustie for years and continue to watch her star rise! She recently sent me a copy of her new CD, Stronger Than Steel, and I was blown away by her level of talent and maturity of the album. This is exactly why I started ‘Bar Bands & Basement Tapes’! I want the rest of the nation to know that there is more to country music than just the top 40 songs you hear on most radio stations!"

Stronger Than Steel is the follow-up to Rustie’s critically acclaimed album, Chip, Chip, and is set for a August 26, 2008 release. Rustie co-wrote the title track and “Cowgirls Do It Better” on the new album. Other writers on the album include Terri Clark on “Fall In the First Place” (written with Gilles Godard and Bobby Tomberlane) and Deborah Allen on “It Hurts Like Love” (written with Chuck Jones). Rustie also recorded “Where I Used to Be,” co-written by Country Weekly magazine’s Senior Editor, Larry Holden, (written with fellow CW colleague, Jerry Holthouse and also Sergei Olkovsky). Willie Mack produced the album and is also a featured guest vocalist on “Stronger Than Steel” and “It Hurts Like Love.”

The first single from the new album is “One Hot Summer Ago” which has already been shipped to radio.

mp3 for “One Hot Summer Ago” and review copies of Stronger Than Steel are available upon request. Please direct all interview/media inquiries to Estella at info@starcountrymedia.com.
