In addition to doing interviews on Thursday, Skyla can be seen hosting and teaching line dancing all week at the World Famous Wildhorse Saloon in downtown Nashville throughout the week!
Skyla made her debut on the Music Row Country Breakout Charts in late 2009 with her energetic “girl power” single release, “This Girl”!! In addition, “This Girl” also charted within the Top 40 on the New Music Weekly chart, Top 25 on the overseas-based Host Disc charts, AND #1 on the Indie World Country Chart!
Skyla went on to score her very first nomination for the New Music Weekly Awards, in the Country Breakthrough Artist of the Year category!
Skyla also choreographed a line dance for her single which she used to put together a dance instruction video. Footage of her teaching the dance was filmed live at the Wildhorse Saloon! About Skyla Spencer:
Skyla Spencer is a gifted songwriter as well as a seasoned performer. Her debut album, You Said You'd Call Me, was released in the summer of 2005. The album containing eleven original songs – all written by Skyla – included “If I Were Rain,” which was used in a documentary titled Moving On From 9/11. "If I Were Rain" was also featured overseas on the Armed Forces Entertainment Tour in 2006.
In the summer of 2008, Skyla earned a spot as one of 200 line dancers performing in the Alan Jackson music video for “Good Time.” Skyla previously enjoyed a cameo role in Eric Church’s debut video for “How ‘Bout You.”
In 2009, Skyla made her debut in the upcoming movie “Bailey,” in which she was cast as a dancer. The film stars Michael Clarke Duncan (“The Green Mile”) and is due for release later this year.
Skyla has also choreographed line dances for other country recording artists. Recently, she choreographed a dance for “Stuck,” the debut single from Broken Bow Records artist, Ash Bowers.
